Gourmet YOGA retreat at Monplaisir – relaxation and fabulous food in a beautiful setting

Saturday April 21st to Wednesday April 25th 2018

Come and treat yourself to 5 days of indulgent relaxation!  Enjoy morning yoga  and early evening meditation / restorative classes led by Ellen, a yoga practitioner with more than 15 years experience and a recent graduate of Tri Yoga London’s Anusara teacher training programme.  (Anusara yoga is an alignment based practice that includes gentle heart opening sequences suitable for all levels).


Feed both your body and soul with delicious, healthy food prepared by trained chef Marion and inspired foodie Ede. The mainly vegetarian menu is prepared using fresh local ingredients including organic fruit and veg from our own kitchen garden. The menu can be adapted to cater for your needs (eg. gluten-free or vegan) and meat options and alcohol are also available. 

There will be lots of opportunity to explore the beautiful French countryside or just relax by the pool and watch the hawks fly overhead.


You’ll fly from London Stansted to Brive-la-Gaillarde on Saturday April 21st (time to be confirmed), where you’ll be picked up and driven to Ambeyrac in plenty of time to settle in and have lunch. In the afternoon simply relax, or enjoy one of the many local walks or bike rides in stunning countryside before the first late afternoon yoga session by the pool (weather permitting). The day will be rounded off with a 4 course dinner.

After an invigorating morning yoga session (8 – 9.30am) we’ll head off to the Sunday morning market followed by lunch at L’Auberge de la Grange du Cros, a renowned local restaurant in a lovely old stone barn. A late afternoon session focusing on meditation and restorative yoga will be followed by a light supper.

After Monday morning’s yoga session there’s an optional excursion to St Cirq Lapopie, one of France’s most beautiful medieval villages perched high above the river Lot. Enjoy a spectacular walk along the cliff tops to reach the village, returning on the towpath along the lush riverbank, followed by a relaxing yoga and meditation session on your return.



Tuesday begins with our regular morning yoga session and breakfast, after which there’s an optional excursion to the stunningly preserved cathedral town of Conques, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an important staging point on the pilgrims’ route to Santiago de Compostela in northern Spain. After lunch we’ll return in time for our afternoon yoga session and dinner on the terrace.


Spend the morning relaxing after our final yoga session on Wednesday, or get out to enjoy a final walk or bike ride. After an early lunch, we’ll drive back to Brive for your return flight to Stansted.

What’s included?
The holiday includes 4 nights accommodation at Monplaisir, flights from Stansted, London to Brive, France, transfers in France and chauffeur service to and from group excursions/ local restaurants, home cooked gourmet meals at Monplaisir (including local wines), all yoga and meditation classes.
Lunch and drinks at local restaurants are not included in the price
