FLUTE SCHOOL LONDON at Monplaisir

Sunday 5th to Friday 10th May 2024

Between 5th and 10th May 2024, Flute School London is returning to Monplaisir, a beautiful country house set in acres of lovely gardens in this most peaceful part of south-west France.

Chamber musician and flute tutor Janna Hüneke and trained chef and amateur flautist Marion Gough are looking forward to welcoming back old friends and newcomers on the residential course. The course is friendly and informal and is suitable for adults from grade 6 or equivalent playing standard. Sessions are individually geared towards course participants.

As well as gourmet food (and optional wine), and a chance to discover this beautiful region of France, the course offers a mix of whole group rehearsals, technique workshops, the opportunity to play duets/trios etc, and individual master classes. You can also sign up for an individual one-to-one lesson and a chance to play with a piano accompanist. We will enjoy the music we’ve been working on with a supportive informal performance to each other at the end of the course.

Transfers to and from the airport are included for the following British Airways flights:
Sun 5th May, London Heathrow to Toulouse at 11.55 am;
Friday 10th May, Toulouse to London Heathrow at17.30 pm.
There are regular flights with budget airlines and with British Airways to and from Toulouse from Gatwick, Heathrow and Stansted, so please feel free to make your own travel arrangements if you prefer. If you get an alternative flight, transfer from our nearest train stations can be organised.

If you’d like to travel all the way by train, there are direct connections from Paris to Cahors, from where we can pick you up. An additional night’s accommodation is available if it’s more convenient to arrive the evening before the course begins. Contact Marion if you’d like to discuss travel options.

We are striving to minimise the negative environmental impact of travelling to Monplaisir. The course fee therefore includes a realistic contribution towards offsetting your carbon footprint through a tree-planting scheme.

There will be the opportunity to visit a local market and some of the beautiful medieval villages in the area, and there are plenty of options for walking or cycling in the spectacular valley of the River Lot, as well as stunning spots for wild swimming.

Alternatively, just put your feet up and relax by our heated pool!
